Norway says is a design group of 3 furniture designers and interior architects
collaborating on international exhibitions. they are a group of friends committed
to putting Norway back on the design map. Espen Voll, Torbjørn Anderssen,
and Andreas Engesvik make up this innovative team. From their first showing
in the Salone Satellite in Milan in 2000, the Norway Says group has received
tremendous attention for their innovative approach to design utilising materials
and techniques inherent to Scandinavian design but with a definite Norwegian
attitude and an approach that looks to the future. Currently one of MOD's
most popular companies, OFFECCT is initiating a collaboration with the Norwegian
design trio, and has launched SPLINE a new range of chairs. The chairs have
a transparent, functional design which works equally well indoors or out.
SPLINE's interesting 3D aspect is created by metal rods, which lend a sculptural
ethos. The chairs boast incredible simplicity, both in material and form.
OFFECCT is launching an entire range
of chairs by the Norwegian design trio, the first being the café chair. Later
this year the SPLINE family will be extended with a bar chair and lounge chair
(see
modnews).
