Offecct once again leads the pack in Stockholm

Bond

The BOND family comprises a wide range of chairs, easy chairs and tables. The pieces are equally at home in a conference room, public lounge or living room. The seating furniture has the shape of a softly rounded square. Massaud wanted to create the illusion of an object that floats and moves with ease. The laminated material in the seat and back of BOND creates elasticity in the back section, which together with the rounded seat offers exquisite comfort. Its timeless design has been created to stand the test of time.

"The concept behind BOND was to create inviting furniture that has quite a low profile, yet still has a distinct attitude. Every detail has been thought through the proportions, and the quality in the lines. BOND has nothing to prove. It is quite simply self-evident. It is everything you are," says designer Jean-Marie Massaud.

With BOND, Jean-Marie has managed to encapsulate several of the values OFFECCT strives for in a single product. The ability to stimulate creative meetings with design that has an impact and brings out the best in people,² says Kurt Tingdal, CEO of OFFECCT.

FACTS & FIGURES
BOND seating furniture: easy chair with/without armrest, upholstered chair with/without castor wheels, armchair with/without castor wheels.

BOND tables: café table 50 (height 50 cm) and café table 100 (height 40, 50 or 72 cm), conference table 240 x 100 (height 72 cm). Available in birch or walnut veneer, white, grey and compact laminate.

Spline
The first product launch in the SPLINE range is a café or garden chair, initially produced for The National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design in Oslo. The SPLINE chair is made of metal rod treated with a rubber material for a hardwearing, long-lasting finish. The chair is subtle in design, and the simplicity of the shape grants it several interesting functions. The chairs are stackable and thanks to the narrow rods, they dry quickly if they get wet. The wiry effect also produces a dramatic shadow in the sunlight. SPLINE has been named Chair of the Year 2005 by ELLE Interiør in Norway.

"When we designed SPLINE, we wanted simplicity in the material and a design with sculptural qualities. The seat and back create a fun, three-dimensional form. The chair is made of one material and one surface, permeated always by simplicity. With SPLINE we managed to combined everything in one," says Andreas Engesvik, one of the three designers in Norway Says.

Norway Says is comprised of designers Andreas Engesvik, Torbjörn Anderssen and Espen Voll. The trio design everything from furniture, lighting and textiles to glass and porcelain, and opened their own studio in Oslo in 2002. They have won several awards including The Honours Award for Design Excellence from the Norwegian Design Council.

"The collaboration with OFFECCT is important to us. OFFECCT is an exciting design company which gives us the chance to reach out to the international market. They're also a company that values innovation, which is a key issue for us," Andreas Engesvik continues.

FACTS & FIGURES
SPLINE is made of metal rod with a rubber surface treatment. The range can be used either indoors or outdoors. SPLINE is available in white. Dimensions: 54 cm (width) x 76 cm (height) x 48 cm (depth).

Playback
OFFECCT is looking to increase its range of flexible seating furniture, and therefore commissioned Eero Koivisto to develop and design a new modular sofa for meeting-places. The result was PLAYBACK, a sofa to which each individual can add their own personal touch thanks to the loose back cushions.

"I wanted to create a piece of seating furniture that enabled architects and interior designers complete freedom to compose and adapt it to their own ideals. Despite the austere lines and quite strict linear shape, the variation and the rounded cushions make it a soft, playful and comfortable piece," Eero Koivisto explains.

The sofa is readily adaptable thanks to loose, moveable back cushions attached using Velcro. The elements themselves are the very feature of this furniture.

"PLAYBACK fills an important gap in our contract range for an elegant and highly functional sofa," says Kurt Tingdal, CEO of OFFECCT.

FACTS & FIGURES
The PLAYBACK sofa system is available as a straight seating module, a corner module and an angled sofa.

Propeller
With new PROPELLER, OFFECCT is expanding its range with a modern, variable basic table. With the PROPELLER series, Eero Koivisto has renewed the existing typology of the functional T, 3-leg and 4-leg tables and modernised their appearance. Using modern technology, the base has been slimmed down and lowered to increase legroom and sitting comfort. The slender lines of the legs are reminiscent of industrial fans and aircraft propellers, thus giving the series its name.

PROPELLER is a wide range of tables offering extensive variation.

"There is great demand for this type of table. The drawback of existing models on the market is that the cast base is high and awkward I¹m sure we¹ve all sat at conference tables and been obstructed by the table legs. I though about ways of reducing the height to make the tables more comfortable and modern. Using modern technology to laser-cut the steel rather than casting it, we¹ve managed to produce a thinner, more slimline base," says designer Eero Koivisto.

PROPELLER is slender of shape, whereby the form of the table-top and legs runs along a single line, finally diverting at the base. The slight taper at the very end of the base, which is also found in other OFFECCT products, keeps the legs sturdy despite their relatively slim construction. The top has a soft shape and comes in several different sizes.

"The advantages of using laser technology to create table bases go beyond the purely visual. We use technical reports to make maximum use of the steel. We can also re-use the material, making the product more economical and environmentally friendly. PROPELLER has a distinctly competitive price," says Kurt Tingdal, CEO of OFFECCT.

FACTS & FIGURES
PROPELLER is available in several versions. Table-tops from 60x60 to 240x110 cm. Further sizes will be added in the future. Tops in compact, white or grey laminate, birchwood or walnut veneer, or stained wood. Cable management also available as an extra. The legs come in 6 designs and 3 heights in white and chrome, and other shades are available for bespoke orders.
