ICFF 2008: International Contemporary Furniture Fair
The 20th annual International Contemporary Furniture
Fair (ICFF) May 17-20, 2008 transformed New York City's
Jacob K. Javits Convention Center into a worldwide wonder
for design disciples. And MOD was there…
North America's singular showcase for contemporary design,
the Fair draws the most intrepid seekers of design
truth and design trends to an extraordinary exhibition
of the
most inspired models of design on the forefront, as
well as thought-provoking programs and a schedule of
supplementary
exhibits and features.
During
the Fair's four days, 145,000 net square feet (14,500
net square meters) of the Javits Center bustled
with more than 25,000 interior designers, architects,
retailers, designers, manufacturers, representatives,
distributors, and developers.
More than 600 exhibitors displayed contemporary furniture,
seating, carpet and flooring, lighting, outdoor furniture,
materials, wall coverings, accessories, textiles, and
kitchen and bath for residential and commercial interiors.
The
MOD booth featured new furniture designs by OFFECCT and
lighting by ZERO, both Swedish companies. Highlights
included designs fresh from the Stockholm Furniture Fair
in February such as “Palma Easy Chair” designed by Palma
Easy Chair" designed by Khodi Feiz, “Amazonas Tables” by Eero Koivisto, and “Tempo” by
Andrea Ruggiero, all for OFFECCT. The PXL Lamp and Camouflage
by ZERO were favorites of the Press and designers alike.
A Press Conference that included Eero Koivisto, Martin
Claesson, Ola Rune, Satyendra Pakhalé, and Andrea Ruggiero
drew a big crowd and much press.. The design of the booth
and the fresh products presented were positively received
by many who attended. MOD is the US representative for
both OFFECCT and ZERO.
