Highline
Restaurant
New York, NY
The new Highline Restaurant (named for the abandoned, elevated train tracks
that run nearby) in the hip Meatpacking District of NYC adds yet another
notch in the belt of the people who brought us Peep, Spice and SEA. Another
winning combo of the most scrumptious Thai food in Manhattan (at very affordable
prices I might add) that pushes the envelope with interior design that blurs
retro with futuro to create an instant classic Karma. The Highline has
three floors filled with all our favorite designers - like the bubble chairs
from Gaston Marticorena, lamps by Verner Panton, chairs by two Eero's, Saarinen
and Aarnio. Add in bar tables and stools by MOD's own Johansen of Sweden
and you will be in for a visual and gastronomic experience you will want
to return to weekly... The waitrons are sweet and hot (like the soup) and
did I mention the music is pretty cool too..
