Johannes Norlander studied architecture at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg and Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. He founded Johannes Norlander Arkitetur AB in 2001. His minimalistic and industrial designs are often induced with a joyful, na•vistic expression, focusing on simplicity and utility value. "I like clear and natural lines and I romanticize about the concept of industrialised. Furniture should be hones, you should be able to see how it is constructed", Norlander says.
Johannes Norlander received the Bruno Mathsson Prize in 2005.
