Julia Läufer and Marcus Keichel founded the Berlin based design agency Läufer + Keichel in 2003. Their work is characterized by the quest to create everyday objects with a human face, regardless if it is architecture or product design. The relationship between the human being and the object is important, and the duo tries to develop objects that people can relate to and have a long-lasting relationship with. Julia Läufer studies industrial design, fashion and textile at the Universität der Künste Berlin and fashion and textile at St. Martin's School of Arts London. Marcus Keichel studied architecture, industrial design and cultural science at the Universität der Künste Berlin. Läufer + Keichel have been awarded the Good Design Award, the Red Dot Award and the IF Product Design Award, and have participated in a great number of expositions throughout the world.
